The following story was submitted by our randomly chosen first place winner:
My son, Graden, had brain surgery at Riley Hospital for Children in June 2013. He has to be careful with his head, but he absolutely loves basketball. We had no previous experience with Upward Sports, but he played in his first Upward Sports league this past fall. We were thrilled with the program, the coaches, and the church volunteers. They made him feel comfortable and welcome. We remind Graden daily that God blessed him with a “special” brain, so having him be surrounded by people who encourage him and show God’s love for him was refreshing and appreciated.
